Vegas Baby!

Allegiant Air

Allegiant Air

Well if you are in Europe there are hundreds of options for cheap weekend getaways but if you are in Vancouver however there are about 3 places you can go Calgary, San Francisco or Las Vegas! I have managed to book cheap flights to Calgary and San Francisco before direct from Vancouver but found a super cheap way of getting to Vegas.

All you have to do is cross the border and drive down to Bellingham Airport, WA and fly from there. Allegiant Air do excellent hotel and flight packages, leaving on a Friday night, staying 2 nights at New York New York hotel and flying back Sunday night cost me less than $700 US for 2 people. If you stay the extra night then its an even better deal!

And when the guys at the border ask you what you have been doing in Las Vegas you can say…Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas baby! (preferably smelling of booze, wearing an Elvis outfit and doing the whole wink, nod, pretend-gun motion…just to really annoy them)

Tip: Book on http://www.allegiantair.com/ for weekend trips to Vegas

Dollar Stores

Dollar Stores

Dollar Stores

In London I wouldn’t even consider going into the pound shop mostly because its just stuff you don’t need and really badly made stuff but in Vancouver its almost a way of life!

There are some really good ones and some not so good, if you really want to know I like the one in Park Royal, the 2 in Lougheed Mall are a bit crap although they have some uses and I think its because Walmart is also there. I hate succumbing to the evil Walmart but I will if I can’t find something from the dollar store. There is also Dollar Giant in Abbotsford which is the size of a supermarket. I like the names…EFAD(Everything For A Dollar), A Buck of Two, Dollarrama, Dollar Depot etc etc

I actually held a cocktail party and bought the little umbrellas, stirrers, shot measurer, magarita and martini glasses, table cloth and serviettes from less than $12, its all going to get broken anyway so why not… noone really needs to know where you got it from.

She Pee

P-mate

P-mate

Women, Now You Can…PEE STANDING UP!

This awesome device comes in very handy when you are out and about in the great outdoors.

I actually have used something similar at Glastonbury Festival and I bought this particular one on this Canadian p-mate site

It’s extremely handy, I use my p-mate out of the boat when we are fishing, relaxing and drinking beer, men can just pee over the side but I had the choice of hanging dangerously of the side of the boat (not really an option as I can’t really swim) or going to shore which is a pain if you have to go 2 or 3 times in one trip and I was always worried about bears.

So this she pee is really useful, it’s sometimes not as easy as it looks and I felt I had to take a leap of faith the first time I used it but its way better then holding it in and being uncomfortable the whole time.
