Martini Magic
Here’s one for you Vancouverites who suffer from lack of good times due to the archaic BC licensing laws… Martini Magic! 3 Martinis for $10! (Let’s face it, it’s probably the closest Vancouver will come to having a happy hour)
It’s not quite Sex and the City as it gets pretty packed in the pub, it starts around 8pm and you have to buy / queue for tickets which do sell out due to the event being very popular… cheap booze who wouldn’t go! But the main purpose of the night is that’s it a Martini making competition where 3 guest bartenders mix up martinis for the whole bar to sample and you have to vote for your favourite one. I was scared to try the apple martini with chili and ginger but it turned out to be the best one..and felt like a healthy option. There are prizes for the best bartender and some for the samplers so you have to hang around till after 10pm to find out and they also give you a stamp so you can have discounted beer after the event.
As you can imagine all these people running around half cut getting their cheap Martini’s can be great fun.
Top Tips: Get there early, get a seat.. have a drink, when the queue dies down get a ticket and then try getting all 3 drinks while the line for Martini’s isn’t too long

Event Date: 1st Thursday of the month for Vodka Martini’s and now starting the 3rd Thursday of the month for Rum Martini’s.. 2 chances to get sloshed for cheap in one month!
